A wide variety of finishes are available

Almost every shade you can imagine. We have solids, gloss, semi gloss, chassis flat, translucent, clears, fluorescent and many special finishes, such as wrinkle. There are also finishes that match metal such as cast aluminum or iron.

You can even send us a sample of what color you would like and we will make you a sample plate of our powder coat, so you can be sure it is the color you want.

Special effects and finishes

We can also do trick work, combining colors and masking designs. Two or three colors on the same piece are not impossible. View our gallery to see some of the multi color finishes we have done.

What doe it cost?

Powder coating is a very cost-effective way of finishing pieces. For an accurate estimate, we have to get an idea of the piece's size and complexity, amount of prep, and extras (color blends, masking, etc). Usually a phone call takes care of that. We can generally give you a pretty accurate idea of costs before you drop off or ship your item(s). You can even e-mail us a digital photo of your project. This is a great way for us to see it beforehand and give you an accurate quote.

Much of our effort is in preparing the item to be coated. It can never been clean enough. We spend time utilizing multiple methods for cleaning pieces before coating. Bear this in mind if you're trying to save a few bucks - the cleaner the part you send, the less prep we have to do. Also, keep in mind that parts are cured at high temperatures, so rubber grommets and bushings will need to be removed from parts ahead of time. If desired, we can even grind off flash and imperfections from cast parts to create a smoother, more custom looking finished product.

What size jobs can you do?

We are constantly expanding our capacity to enable us to accommodate a wide range of project sizes. We can coat items the size of nuts and bolts to entire vehicle chassis.

What if you aren't local?

You don't have to be local to benefit from our service. You can simply ship your pieces to us. The best way to have your item shipped to us is either UPS or FedEx. This way you will have a tracking number and know exactly when your item will arrive at the shop.

Please remember that Compo's Hot Coating is not responsible for items damaged while in transport to our facilities. If you are sending valuable items, please make sure you purchase shipping insurance from your carrier.
